Now look, I know you are reading this page to help you decide whether I am the person that can best help you. That’s very smart of you because hypnosis is about communication and the best communication occurs when people know and trust one another. The safest thing for me to do here would be to go with standard copy like “John is a gifted hypnotherapist, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada…”, but really, that sort of approach is not going to help you make the decision you have to make. That’s advertising, not communicating on a personal level. My job as a hypnotherapist is to guide you to the successful realization of your goals. So, if taking this honest, first-person approach causes you to seek someone other than myself to help you on your journey, that’s good – I’m doing my job of helping you, even if I don’t have the satisfaction of knowing it.

So about me. I’m a card-carrying member of the baby boom generation and a Phoenix area resident for nearly forty years. I have a BA from Hofstra University and my educational background is in electronics, software development and music. My career as both an entrepreneur and corporate servant has always revolved around that experience. If you’re interested in past history and some of what I've done, you can click here to see my company’s bio. Given all that, perhaps you’re wondering how I became interested in hypnosis as a profession. Interestingly enough, it was through my love of music.

I was reading the liner notes of a recording of Rachmaninov’s 2nd Piano Concerto, and learned of an interesting connection between its composition and hypnosis. It’s really a great story for a great piece of music and it rekindled a childhood interest in hypnosis. I read several books and searched the Internet for articles on the subject. The more I read the more I realized what a powerful, natural gift we all possess and how, for most of us, our perception of hypnosis has been distorted by Hollywood and stage performers into something to be feared or laughed at. My new understanding of hypnosis inspired me to want to help others discover the ability within themselves to change their lives. I enrolled in the Hypnotherapy Certification program at the nationally accredited, and highly respected Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and studied under teacher and therapist, Linda Bennett. I’m certified by both the American Board of Hypnotherapy and the National Guild Of Hypnotists. I have completed post-certification advanced courses in fears and phobias, past life regression, stress management, and pain management.

My approach to hypnotherapy is direct and very down to earth. By that I mean, I believe that through hypnosis, I can help you realize your goals in a short period of time by helping you harness the power of your mind. I do not practice other forms of New Age therapies such as life coaching, crystal healing, aroma therapy and the like. If you’re looking for a mystical, spiritual experience or realignment, I’m probably not your best choice, but give me a call and I can recommend some really talented people in those practices.

It’s also important to know that I do not regard hypnosis as a substitute for traditional medicine. If you have a physical problem, see your doctor before seeing your hypnotist. You might want to take one of our referral forms and ask your doctor to fill it out, especially if you are going to use hypnosis for pain management.

Finally, let me thank you for visiting our site. I hope it has helped you to decide if hypnosis is the right choice for you. If all your questions and concerns about hypnosis were not addressed here, feel free to contact us, or call to schedule a free consultation.
